There is much discussion about these small rectangular cancels on mail in the 1930's to the 1940's a relatively short period of usage. The rectangle cancels top half is the location and the lower half is a date line divided by two slashes (/).
There is speculation that these were village post offices that received mail for the Thai post systems and delivered it to locations in the area that would be too time consuming for the Thai Postman.
These private licensed mail offices also canceled mail for the village entering mail into the Thai mail system.There may have been compensation based on letters delivered to the office for further delivery and by the amount of mail canceled at the location .
